The artwork shows how limited a woman's natural potency is today to create the miracle of life: A single egg has finally produced a healthy child. Of the millions of eggs available to a woman, only a few have the potency to create this miracle. The many black dots symbolise the many hopeful attempts that were ultimately unsuccessful. In the end, only one thing counts - a single "golden egg" - and hope has paid off; the miracle has been accomplished. 

The work of art is a symbol for life. It stands not only for those who are already alive - and thus were once a "golden egg" - but also for the miracles that are currently being created and for the hopes of all people who want to conceive a child. I express the miracle of life in my art solely through the use of 24-carat gold, which is considered a very valuable commodity in many cultures.

Viktoria has surprised us this year with a complete change in her work. She is known as an outstanding painter of mountains, especially Swiss mountains. Wrapped in gold, her works radiate from the wall, always accompanied by her trademark the red colour.

She places herself in the genre of Alpine landscape painting, but literally brings the mountains to life.

And now she paints dots. The shift towards a subject that many take for granted but should never be. The (own) conception of a child and the miracle that lies behind it. Anyone who engages with Viktoria's work should have understood how valuable every single life and living being is. The Golden Egg, literally, as it is made of 24-carat gold, is another bright spot and milestone in Viktoria's oeuvre.
