Description
The painting symbolizes the cyclical nature of human labor, such as a Reaper who harvests on his land from year to year.
“The Reapers” was painted at a turning point in my life, when there was no ground under my feet and I found myself at a crossroads with a thousand roads. At first there was only green grass, which symbolized summer, the image of the Reapers came by itself and appeared much later. The picture seemed to be painting itself, and at the end I saw the right road and became a “Reaper" myself.
