Each journey begins with the first step. And so does the «adventure art». But what do you need to know about art before clicking for the first time? What is art?

Each journey begins with the first step. And so does the «adventure art». But what do you need to know about art before clicking for the first time? What is art?

A simple question which is not always quite as easy to answer. For the art scene is as diverse as its styles and artworks. Likewise, the tastes and focuses of museums, galleries, art fairs, collectors, critics, influencers, art historians, etc. could not be more different. Simplicity sounds different...

But fortunately, art is as mannifold as each artist's personality and as variously diverse as our personal tastes and preferences. Therefore, the path for the "art adventure" is easier than expected: Open your eyes, look at artworks, find pleasure, feel your heartbeat and let yourself be inspired - step by step. The art you collect is a reflection of your personality. And your personality is mirrored in your style of living and your appearance. Buy artworks of artists whom you believe in. Educate yourself, read journals, visit museums, take your time to learn about the history. With knowledge and the connections that come with this, it becomes more and more fun! You will be able to decipher art that seems cryptic, you will see the connections between the different art periods and you will recognise how the current forms of expression have come to exist.

Art can also be an investment. For this, it is important that you begin to compare. Which artists come from which region, what has already happened in art history, which art academy do they come from? Is there something exiting going on? Politically? Artistically? Perhaps an alumnus of this art academy, maybe even as a professor, has discovered something exiting? Is there an interesting art group or collective that needs to be followed closely because they are making important statements about current affairs? As with any investment, it is most lucrative if you buy a piece of art below its value and then release it into an auction or to a gallery owner as soon as the artist begins to rise high and the price of the art piece shoots up. Compare prices of equivalent artists to get a sense of this.

So, now we release you onto the platform. Compare, differentiate, read up, discuss and above all, listen to your heart. Then nothing will stand in the way of your art collection!
