Eduard Stiefel war ein Schweizer Maler und Grafiker. Nach seiner Ausbildung als Lithograph in Zürich reiste er nach München und studierte dort von 1898 bis 1902 an der Akademie der Bildenden Künste. 1905 übernimmt er an der Kunstgewerbeschule Zürich eine Professur und ist später als Zeichenlehrer am kantonalen Gymnasium in Zürich tätig.
Eduard Stiefel was a Swiss painter and graphic artist. After training as a lithographer in Zurich, he travelled to Munich where he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts from 1898 to 1902. In 1905, he accepted a professorship at the Zurich School of Arts and Crafts and later served as a drawing teacher at the Cantonal High School in Zurich.
In addition to oil paintings, Stiefel also created murals and woodcuts and was active as a book illustrator, stage designer, and poster designer.
