03.12.2023: Flower Woman

Kamila Hyo Hlobil

The portrait "Flower Woman" shows an unknown woman in a garden park full of magnificent colours. The beauty of the woman is an analogy to the splendour of colour and creates a harmonious whole.

Kamila Hyo, an artist from Switzerland with Czech roots, paints pictures of various themes, from landscapes to nudes, flowers, portraits…

This painting of an unknown woman in portrait, with splendidly coloured flowers in her hair, is no exception. The eyes looking at the viewer are framed by a royal blue eyeshadow reflecting the sky in the background. There is a certain harmony in her gaze that is slightly melancholic. The flower woman as a person represents a beauty, underlined by the unmistakable beauty of the pearl she wears as an earring and the splendid flowers in her hair. Depending on how the light falls on the oil painting, the background radiates changing colours and moves slightly in a breeze. The work was painted with selected positive colours. The blaze of colour radiates the beauty of summer and shows the world in a positive, healthy and hopeful way.

Kamila's works contain references to biblical and Old Testament texts. But it does not stop there. Scientific themes such as symmetry, the firmament and environmental concerns are also recurring themes in her works. She sensitively embeds the themes in her playful and light works, which are circumscribed in a certain atmosphere. The colours are always exhilarating, even if the themes sometimes weigh heavily.

Kamila was able to show her work this year as part of ZeeArts, in cooperation with the UN and the SDGs, the Sustainable Development Goals, in Basel at ArtBasel and at the Blue Zone, in Expo City in Dubai. Mediated through art24. She is an outstanding artist who is still flying under the radar!
